At the centennial of Nelson Mandela’s birth, the Mariposa is thrilled to host the New England premier of Conscience of the Human Spirit: The Life of Nelson Mandela, an exhibit of 51 quilts by African-American quilt artists honoring the life and legacy of Nelson Mandela.
Join us for an opening party and fundraiser featuring South African-themed appetizers, drinks, a VIP first look at these 51 powerful works of art, and remarks by special guest Dr. Carolyn L. Mazloomi, co-curator of this exhibit and a nationally-acclaimed quilt artist, quilting historian, author and lecturer. Proceeds will benefit Mariposa educational programs.
