Standing Up to Hate – Panel Discussion

Standing Up to Hate - Panel Discussion“Standing Up To Hate” will bring four special guests to Mariposa to help us understand hate crimes in NH and how we can best respond to them.

Elizabeth Lahey, director of the Civil Rights Unit at the NH Department of Justice, will address the incidence of hate crimes in our state.

Devon Chaffee, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union in NH, will speak to issues of free speech and hate speech.

Maggie Fogarty of the American Friends Service Committee in NH will tell us about how communities and individuals are responding to hate in our midst.

Tom White, education director at the Cohen Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Keene State College, will talk about his work in the schools to train young people to recognize and respond creatively to bullying and hate speech.

Please join us at 7pm at Mariposa on Wednesday, May 8 for this important and timely program.

Admission: Free for Mariposa members, regular museum admission for others.
