The Monadnock Writers’ Group and the Mariposa Museum invite the public to attend an evening of short readings from The Mud Chronicles: A New England Anthology on Wednesday, December 4th from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.
The Mud Chronicles includes works of poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and images of New England from writers who have a strong connection to the region. These works reveal the transitional essence of our “fifth season” in both physical and emotional landscapes. Come and hear local writers reveal how the landscape and seasonal cues remind us of our own special “mud season” and of emotional transitions, of times that do not fit smoothly into the unfolding of life, that mark a shift in who we are and who we will become. Some of the artwork from the collection will also be on view in its original form.
Since 1984, Monadnock Writers’ Group has provided support to writers at all levels and in all genres in a friendly, informal environment. The group also works to raise awareness of the literary talent in the Monadnock Region and promote reading and publishing opportunities for local authors.
The readings from The Mud Chronicles will be held at the Mariposa Museum (26 Main Street in downtown Peterborough). Copies of the anthology will be available for purchase.
Admission is free but contributions in support of the Mariposa Museum are welcome.
The Mariposa Museum is wheelchair accessible.
