EXHIBIT: And Still We Rise

44 STUNNING STORY QUILTS NARRATING 400 YEARS OF THE AFRICAN AMERICAN EXPERIENCE

On Exhibit October 27 – December 30, 2018

Mariposa Museum & World Culture Center
26 Main Street, Peterborough, NH
Tuesday-Sunday, 11am-5pm

These beautifully handcrafted quilts, created by members of the Women of Color Quilters Network, narrate the history of the African American experience, capturing the stories of freedom’s heroes. By exploring events of four centuries through the fiber artistry of women of color, the quilts of this exhibition bear witness to and relate perspectives that written history has often neglected.

Organized by Dr. Carolyn L. Mazloomi, courtesy of the Women of Color Quilters Network.

Presented by the Mariposa Museum & World Culture Center.
